Update: Cops in downtown are getting really strict about cameras lately

I mean, I got stopped twice last week just for taking photos of buildings. Maybe it's just me but it feels like they're cracking down on anything that looks like recording.

The Wirecutter ran a piece last month about NYPD stopping street photographers. Sounds like it's getting worse everywhere.

My buddy got his camera checked by a cop last month just for filming near a protest. They held him for like twenty minutes asking why he was there.
