Update: Satellite trails wrecked my deep sky photo last night

I set up my old telescope in the yard to finally get a clear shot of the Andromeda galaxy after weeks of planning. Had the camera hooked up and everything ready to go for a long exposure. Right in the middle of it, a bright string of those new satellites zipped straight through my frame and left these ugly streaks. Now the whole image is basically useless, and I have to start over. This is the third time this month something like this has happened with all the stuff they're putting up there. It feels like you can't even enjoy the night sky without man-made junk getting in the way. Why do we keep adding more when it's already hurting how we see space from here? Makes you wonder if anyone thinks about this stuff before they launch.

Does it get any less frustrating each time, or is it just as maddening? I had my own photo of Orion ruined by a satellite streak last week. It's crazy how these bright lines are everywhere now, and they just keep putting more up. Starting over after all that planning feels like a real kick in the teeth.
