Vent: my $400 Facebook ad spend got me 3 fake leads in Dallas
I run a small HVAC repair shop, and last Tuesday I boosted a promotion for our seasonal tune-up special. Facebook said the audience was 35 to 55 year olds within 15 miles, so I dropped $400 over five days. Got 3 leads that all turned out to be phone numbers from out of state, one guy even asked if I sold vacuum cleaners. My buddy who does landscaping said he had the same problem with his local ads in Dallas, so we both feel like we're throwing cash into a pit. Has anyone else tried a different platform for local service businesses, or is Google Ads worth the learning curve for a guy like me?
