Rain barrel gravity feed vs. pump, which side are you on?
At a homestead tour in Vermont last fall, this older guy told me he ripped out his 12 volt pump because the pressure tank kept cycling and wore him down, he just lets a 55 gallon drum gravity feed his garden now. I get that it's simpler and silent, but with my plot being uphill from the barrels I'd need like 8 feet of head to get decent flow, so has anyone else found a middle ground that doesn't cost a fortune?
