Rant: I drove the same stretch of I-80 in Nebraska for 15 years, then one day a grain silo was just gone.
I know the route from North Platte to Grand Island like the back of my hand, and there was always this specific cluster of three white silos right after the Odessa exit. Last Tuesday, I came around the bend and only two were standing. No construction signs, no debris, nothing. It's like it was erased. Has anyone else had a landmark just vanish without a trace on their regular route?

Honestly seems like a weird thing to get worked up about. Stuff gets torn down all the time, it's just a silo.

It's weird how the background of your life can just change overnight. I've had that happen with a corner store and a big old tree, just gone between commutes. Makes you feel a bit unsteady, like you can't fully trust your own map of the world anymore.
