Warning: don't let your helper use the wrong cleaner on a tinted job

I was installing a big tinted storefront in Phoenix last month. My new guy grabbed the ammonia-based glass cleaner from the truck, not the ammonia-free stuff. He sprayed a whole panel before I could stop him. The ammonia started eating the tint film's adhesive almost right away, leaving this weird, bubbly haze. Had to reorder the film and eat the cost, about $200. Anyone else have a helper mistake that cost you a morning?

A buddy of mine had his helper use a razor blade on a car's rear defroster lines after tinting. Scraped the lines right off. That was a way bigger bill than two hundred bucks, had to replace the whole back glass. Those ammonia cleaners are no joke though, they'll ruin a job in seconds. Makes you want to just throw all the wrong stuff away and only keep the safe spray on the truck.

Oof, that's a painful lesson. I once nearly used glass cleaner on a fresh tint out of pure habit. My brain just went on autopilot. It really does make you want to hide anything that could cause a disaster.
