Just found out the basalt columns at Giant's Causeway formed in about 3 days, not thousands of years. Read it in a paper from Trinity College Dublin.

My geology professor used to say the earth works on its own weird schedule. He showed us time lapse videos of crystals growing in hours that should take years. Makes you wonder what else we've got wrong about time, right?
