My smart scale gave my cat a crazy weight reading

I picked up a smart scale because all the reviews said it was spot on. Last night, it measured my small cat at 50 pounds out of nowhere. Do gadget testers ever try these things on pets?

Imagine the poor scale trying to find four human feet and getting a handful of toe beans instead. It's probably reading the pressure from just the paws and then trying to run a full body composition analysis on that data. You'd get a wild number because the math is built for a person's weight spread over two feet, not a cat's weight on four tiny points. That 50 pounds is likely the scale's best guess for what a human with that much pressure in such small areas would weigh.

Lol those scales probably get thrown by paw pad shape or fur texture. Would love to see a tester's face if their job was weighing a bunch of angry cats.
