My free desk came with a surprise tenant hiding in the drawer

In my experience, curb alerts can be hit or miss, and last week's free desk was a classic example. Turns out it had a mouse family settled in the drawer, but I figured out how to coax them out with some peanut butter and a box. Your mileage may vary, but has anyone else had to deal with extra 'tenants' in free furniture?

Did the mice at least pay rent?

Nope, those mice are total freeloaders. They eat my food and leave messes everywhere. I'm such a pushover, I even considered setting up a tiny lease agreement. Guess I'm not cut out to be a landlord, even for rodents. At this point, I'd settle for them doing the dishes now and then.

Wait you were actually thinking about a lease for mice? That's next level. I can't even get my roommate to sign our real lease. Imagining mice with little pens trying to scribble their names is sending me. They'd probably just chew the paper up anyway.
