Found a perfectly good couch on the curb in Portland last Tuesday
I was walking my dog near Alberta Street and saw a clean gray couch with a 'free' sign. The owner came out and said they were moving and it had no stains, so I called a friend with a truck. We got it home and it fits great in my living room. Has anyone else scored big from a curb alert?

Portland's curb culture is next level, especially in the summer when everyone is moving. I've seen everything from working microwaves to solid wood bookcases just sitting there waiting for a new home. It makes you wonder how much perfectly good stuff gets thrown away in other cities. What was the best condition item you've ever found?

Honestly, the weirdest part is finding stuff that's clearly brand new, like someone gave up on a hobby the second the box arrived. I once grabbed a sealed-in-plastic indoor herb garden kit, lights and all. Another time it was a fancy foot massager still in the molded foam. Makes you think about all those impulse buys that just become instant trash in less patient cities.
