Left a rental fridge unplugged for 3 weeks, landlord found it
I sublet my place in Austin for a month and told the tenant to keep the fridge door cracked open. They didn't, and I didn't check until the landlord walked in for a pipe inspection. That smell hit us at the doorway, black liquid pooled under the veggie drawer. I spent 6 hours scrubbing with bleach and baking soda, but the plastic absorbed it. Had to pay $450 to replace the whole unit out of my deposit. Anyone else tried ozone generators or enzyme sprays on this kind of buildup, or is replacement the only real fix?
