PSA: dont waste cash on those solar landscape lights

I bought a 12 pack of those little stake lights off Amazon for $40 and after one summer 9 of them stopped working. The battery compartments filled with water even though they said waterproof. Anyone else have better luck with a specific brand that actually holds up?

9 out of 12 died after one summer"? Man, that is rough, I would be furious. For forty bucks I'd expect at least a couple seasons, not basically a one-time use deal. Your mileage may vary, but I've had way better luck finding cheap solar lights at the hardware store clearance rack than trusting Amazon reviews.

9 out of 12 died after one summer" yeah that's basically a 75% failure rate in one season. For forty bucks you'd think they'd at least last a full year. I swear Amazon reviews are mostly bots or people who just got them and posted a photo before they even turned on. I've had the same luck with clearance racks at hardware stores honestly. Picked up a set for like 12 bucks at Lowes last fall that are still going strong two summers later. Guess it's a gamble no matter where you buy them but at least at a store you can see them in person before you hand over your cash.
