TIL my fabric sketches were missing a key step for three years

I was sketching a jacket design last week and kept feeling something was off. A friend pointed out I never draw the actual seam lines, just the outline of the garment. I went back to my old sketchbook and realized I'd been doing this since my first class in Chicago. Now I add dotted lines for every seam and the whole design makes way more sense. Does anyone else have a basic step they missed for way too long?
