How I solved my facial steamer's mineral buildup problem

I noticed my steamer's mist was getting weak after just a month. When I opened it up, there was a bunch of white scale inside from my tap water. I let it sit with some vinegar for an hour and it all came off. Now I only use distilled water and it works like new.

Lemon juice works too if you hate the vinegar smell.
