Discovered a cheap fix for oily skin that actually works (not what you think)
I spent years buying expensive mattifying primers and powders that barely lasted through lunch. Then about 2 months ago I tried a trick from an older esthetician I met at a conference in Austin. She told me to pat a thin layer of hemorrhoid cream on my T-zone before makeup. I know it sounds weird but it constricts the blood vessels and reduces oil production. I've been doing it for 6 weeks now and my makeup stays matte for 8 hours instead of 2. Has anyone else tried this or am I the only one who found a weird shortcut that works?
You're putting over the counter medication on your face every day. That stuff is designed for a specific medical purpose, not for daily cosmetic use. Skin is pretty good at regulating itself and messing with blood vessels long term could backfire. I'd rather blot oil midday than risk my skin getting dependent on something like that.
