Just learned how much power a single data center can use

Found an article about a new one being built near Phoenix. It said it will need 90 megawatts when fully running. That's enough for like 70,000 homes. I knew they used a lot, but that number is wild. Anyone worked on a project that big before?

That Phoenix center is just one of dozens being built. The real story is where all that new power is coming from... and what gets turned off to supply it. We're basically trading one type of infrastructure for another.

Ever wonder who's paying for all that new power? Not just the bill, but the political cost of telling a town their old plant is closing.
