My broken flash drive saved my lesson plan backup routine
Last Tuesday I was in the staff room at Lincoln Middle School and my 32GB flash drive with all my history resources just stopped working. The connector snapped off inside my laptop's USB port, which was a mess. I had to use my phone's hotspot to re-download everything from Google Drive, and it took about 40 minutes. Has anyone else had to rebuild their teaching files from scratch after a storage failure?

Forty minutes to rebuild everything sounds like a WIN compared to my last backup saga. I once lost an entire semester of grading to a dead external drive and had to re-enter scores from paper printouts, which took a whole weekend. Maybe your flash drive snapping was the universe telling you that cloud storage is the real hero here.
