Warning: cheap compound will ruin your day
Bought the $8 pre-mixed joint compound from the big box store. Had to sand every single joint twice because it was full of air bubbles. Cost me an extra 3 hours on a 500 sq ft basement job. Anyone else stick to the mid-range stuff?

Espar makes a good taping compound for about $15 a bucket.
