I finally noticed how much softer the sand is now compared to 15 years ago
Was working a job down near the old channel entrance last week and couldn't help but think back to when I first started running a dredge in 2009. Back then we were pulling up this coarse, nasty mix with shells and rocks that chewed through our cutter heads like crazy. Now the material coming through is way finer and softer, almost like silt. Guessing it's from decades of upstream development changing what washes down. Any other old-timers notice their local spots getting easier on the equipment over the years?

Damn, that's rough remembering what it used to be like. Glad the work's getting a little easier on your gear now.
