Cleared 500 cubic yards in a single shift on the Lake Erie project

Our crew on the Toledo harbor deepening job hit 502 cubic yards in one 12 hour run last Tuesday. That's with the old 18 inch cutterhead dredge, not even the new gear. The foreman just shook his head and said he hadn't seen numbers like that since the '90s. What's the most material you've ever moved in a day that made you stop and check the gauges twice?

That's a serious pile of mud to move in one shift. Makes me think of the time our pump got a mind of its own on a sandy stretch, and we outran the survey boat. The poor guy was waving his arms trying to get us to stop because he couldn't keep up with the stakeouts. Had to check the flow meter three times, sure it was broken. Sounds like you and @jenniferb90 both caught that perfect kind of day where everything just bites right.

We had a day like that on a river job last fall. Our old clamshell was just biting perfect material, no big rocks to slow us down. The barge guy kept radioing about how fast we were filling up. I remember looking at the total and having to walk back to the office trailer to check the daily sheet from the week before. It was almost double our usual pull.
