Saw the same 3D model drawn 5 different ways today
Was dropping off prints at a fabrication shop near Waco and two drafters there argued over the same bracket flange for 20 minutes. One used a projected section, the other stacked views, and neither could read the other's intent fast. It hit me that our drawings are a language and we keep inventing dialects. Has anyone else run into this where the shop guys just want one standard way to see things?

Man, I have to push back on this one. The "shop guys just want one way" thing sounds good until you actually try it, because every part has a view that sells it best. A projected section on a flange tells you wall thickness and hole depth at a glance, but stacked views show you how it sits in the assembly, and forcing one style means somebody is squinting at a drawing that hides what they need. Those two drafters arguing for 20 minutes probably weren't confused, they were each right for a different question. The real fix isn't one dialect, it's making sure the callouts and notes spell out the intent so the format matters less. Standardize the notes, not the views, and the shop stops guessing.
