Warning: my 15 min trim paint job turned into a 3 day ordeal
I just found out that moldings painted with old oil based paint can bubble up if you slap latex over the top without scuffing them first. Saw it on a local community college extension bulletin in Raleigh last week. I thought I was clever using a $18 angled brush and skipping the sanding step entirely. Now I'm scraping 40 feet of trim and the paint is coming off in strips like bacon. Anyone else ever skip prep to save time and totally regret it twice as hard?
