Tried to level my own basement floor with self-leveling concrete last month in Milwaukee

Honestly, I thought it would be a quick afternoon job. The bag said it flows out smooth but I didn't realize you gotta mix it perfect and pour it fast. Ended up with a lumpy mess that took me two extra days to grind down with a rented angle grinder. Has anyone else had this stuff set up way quicker than the instructions say?

It's not 15 minutes, more like 5 or 8 in cool weather.

I mixed a batch at 7pm and by 7:15 it was turning into peanut butter. It's like everything promises easy results but the real trick is timing, whether it's concrete or just getting dinner on the table before the kids melt down. You figure out pretty quick that the margin between smooth and disaster is way smaller than they let on.
