The day my desk became a trampoline thanks to a bad clamp
Last month I was tightening a 4 inch clamp on my monitor stand and it snapped clean in half, sending the whole top plate flying like a frisbee across the garage. It landed in my tool bucket, not my face, which was lucky, but now I check every bargain clamp from Harbor Freight twice before I trust it. Anyone else had a cheap tool fail in a spectacular way during a build?
Hold on, I gotta push back on this one. Ive had HF clamps for years and the only time one broke was when I used a cheater bar on a 6 inch screw clamp, which is 100% on me. A 4 inch snapping clean just sounds like you overtorqued it or the jaw was already bent from a previous drop, not a universal brand thing.
