Rant: Dropped $60 on a fancy monitor arm that bent after 2 weeks
I bought this sleek gas spring arm off Amazon because all the reviews said it was heavy duty. Bolted it to my desk last Tuesday and by the next Monday my 27 inch screen was sagging like 3 inches down. Turns out the clamp was just cheap plastic painted to look like metal. Had to jerry rig it with a wood block just to keep my monitor from tipping over. Anyone else get burned by those flashy amazon picks?

Bought the exact same type of arm last year and learned the hard way that gas springs are only as good as the base. Grab a single arm from Humanscale or Ergotron on Craigslist for fifty bucks and youll never have to worry about sag again.
