Rant: Cheap monitor arm bracket cracked after 2 weeks, nearly took out my new display
I bought a $18 gas spring arm off Amazon to hold my 27 inch panel and it looked fine at first. Day 12 I heard a pop, the VESA plate sheared right at the tilt joint and my screen swung forward, caught it by the bezel just in time. The metal was this thin cast alloy, you could see bubbles in the break. I swapped it for a $45 solid steel pole mount from a local surplus shop and that thing is rock solid. Anyone else had a budget arm fail on them, or am I just unlucky with the batch?
