Appreciation post: my buddy's $9 yard sale monitor arm changed how I think about builds
My friend Marcus picked up a used monitor arm at a yard sale in Sacramento last month for $9, and when I helped him clamp it to a 3/4 inch plywood top I realized I'd been overthinking my own setup for two years. I kept putting off a real arm because I thought I needed a $90 one with gas springs, but his cheap one holds his 24 inch screen fine with just a twist knob. Now I'm wondering how many of my "upgrades" were really just me copying what I saw on YouTube. What's the cheapest part of your setup that ended up working better than the fancy version?
