My $7 thrift store grinder fixed my morning routine
Last Tuesday I grabbed a beat-up hand grinder from a shop in Eugene for seven bucks. It had a cracked handle and loose burr, but after 20 minutes with a screwdriver and some rubber bands for grip, it grinds as steady as my old electric one. I timed it at 90 seconds for 18 grams, which is slower, but the consistency beats what I got from the $40 unit I owned before. Has anyone else resurrected a cheap find like this, or am I alone in trusting a garage sale grinder over new gear?
