Hydraulic lift vs. hand crank for my cargo trailer, I regret the cheap route
Last month I was building out a 6x12 cargo trailer for my landscaping gear outside Boise and had to pick between a $300 hand crank tailgate lift and a $900 hydraulic one. I went with the hand crank to save money, but after 11 jobs loading 800 pounds of sod and pavers each time, my shoulder is killing me and it takes 15 minutes every trip. The hydraulic version would've paid for itself in time saved by now. Has anyone else gone budget on a lift mechanism and later wished they'd just spent the extra cash?
