My bike shop buddy said my chain was dry as a bone, changed how I lube after every ride
I used to just slap some lube on when the chain looked shiny, maybe once every 300 miles. Last week my buddy Dave checked my chain with a Park Tool CC-4 and said it was already at 0.75 wear after just 800 miles. He told me I was lubing wrong, I should wipe the chain with a rag after every ride and reapply every 100 miles or after rain. I switched to that routine and my new chain has stayed quiet for 600 miles now. Anyone else had a shop guy call them out on something basic you thought you knew?
