That gallery wall layout at the Portland art walk threw me off

Went to the First Thursday thing last month. Saw a digital piece displayed way too high, like eye level was off by a foot. The artist stood next to it and had to point up. Whole crowd tilted their heads. Made me think about my own showcase setup. Do you check viewing angle before hanging or printing? Or is that just a me thing?
