Vent: I mocked the torque angle gauge for 12 years, then a 6.7 Cummins head gasket set me straight
I used to swear by the old click-type wrench and a sharp elbow, but after pulling a stretched head bolt on a customer's 2019 Ram at the shop in Amarillo last month, I broke down and bought the angle gauge, and my comebacks on head jobs dropped from three a quarter to zero, so what torque method are you all actually running on these newer diesels?
Did you actually track those comebacks or is that just how it felt after a bad job? One guy's head gasket run doesn't mean the rest of us are doing it wrong.
