A tech in Tulsa taught me to check injector cups with a mirror before pulling the head, saved me a whole day
Three weeks ago I had a 2006 5.9 in the shop with coolant in the oil and I was about to yank the head off. An older guy named Ray who works at the truck stop on 11th Street stopped by and told me to shine a flashlight down the injector bore and look with a mirror first. Sure enough, cup number 4 was cracked and the whole job took me 4 hours instead of a full day. Any of you keep a mirror on the truck for this kind of check?
