The week our church van route in Toledo fell apart, and how we fixed it
Last month our church runs a van to pick up folks for Sunday service, and the Tuesday before, two of our three drivers called in sick for the whole week. We had 14 regular riders and only one driver, so I ended up mapping out a new route on a paper map at 11pm on a Wednesday. I basically stapled together a plan where one van did two loops, and it cut the total drive time by about 20 minutes, which shocked me. Has anyone else had to reroute a small community transport setup when half your people drop out at once?
