Spent 5 hours redesigning a bus shelter in Fort Collins before I realized the whole plan was dead
So I got asked to sketch a new shelter for a stop on the MAX line out in Fort Collins and I was pretty stoked about it. I spent a good 5 hours on the layout, working out the bench spacing, the roof overhang so rain doesn't soak the seats, all of it. Turns out the transit guys already had a rule that shelters have to stay 8 feet back from the curb for the snowplows, and my whole design had it at 3 feet. Nobody told me this until I emailed them the file. Had to scrap the entire thing and start over the next morning. Has anyone else been handed a redesign job without the actual design rules up front? How do you get people to hand over the specs before you waste a day?
