Switched from complex passwords to passphrases and never looked back

For years I used those complicated passwords with symbols, numbers, and mixed case that you're supposed to change every 90 days. Kept forgetting them, so I'd reset them constantly or just write them on sticky notes at my desk. About 8 months ago after a security audit at my job in Austin, the IT guy told me passphrases are actually harder to crack and easier to remember. Now I use random 4 word combinations like "bluecarrotclamjump" with a few tweaks. My password manager usage dropped way down and I haven't had a single lockout since. The only downside is some sites still have weird character limits that reject long strings. Anyone else made the switch and run into sites that just won't accept passphrases?

I read somewhere that some banks limit passphrase length to 20 characters which totally defeats the purpose.
