Block security cam network idea causing split opinions

Some neighbors want to link our home security cameras to catch porch pirates. They say it will make our street safer. But others worry about strangers getting into our private feeds or home Wi-Fi. Has anyone set up something like this without issues?

Heck, my own camera feed is probably the biggest security risk...

Sounds good until a hacker gets into the whole network. Not worth the risk for me.
