Back when I used the same password for everything

I remember in the early 2010s I had one single password I used for my email, school accounts, even online shopping. It was just my dog's name and my birth year, maybe 8 characters total. Then in 2016 I had a credit card number stolen from a site I used that password on, and I had to freeze my card and wait a week for a new one. Now I use a password manager with different long passwords for every account, and I generate them as random strings. Has anyone else made the switch from lazy to safe after a close call?

My "password" was literally just "password" for years. Yikes.

Laughing at my past self who thought "password123" was a genius move. Honestly it's a miracle I didn't get hacked sooner with that garbage.
