Sailed out of Miami on the big mega ship in 2019, then took a small 600 passenger boat last month, and the small one ruined me
The big ship felt like a floating mall with 4,000 other folks, and I spent more time waiting in lines for the buffet and the water slides than actually looking at the ocean. Last month out of Miami we took a 600 person boat to the Bahamas, and I was up on deck watching flying fish within 10 minutes of boarding, no crowds, no announcements blaring every hour. The captain even came out and pointed at a pod of dolphins off the bow, which never would have happened on the mega ship because nobody knew where the bridge was. The food was simpler but the crew actually knew our names by day two, which felt weird in a good way. For anyone who has done both sizes, did the smaller ship make you want to go back to the big one at all, or am I ruined for good?
