A retired captain on my Galveston to Cozumel sailing told me the port side is always the calmer side on that route, and now I feel silly about my last 3 bookings
He said the Gulf current pushes against the starboard hull heading south out of Texas, so if you ever get seasick on that itinerary, ask for an odd numbered cabin and thank me later.

Three bookings of the wrong side is a tough run, but at least you got a good story out of it. The captain probably tells everyone that just to see who actually switches cabins next time.
