I spent 3 weeks convinced my neighbor was watching me through a fake security camera, then I finally looked at it up close
So my neighbor across the street, Dale, mounted this big black dome camera on his porch about a month back. I started noticing it always seemed pointed right at my driveway no matter what time of day it was. For 3 weeks I'm waving at it sarcastically, parking my truck at weird angles, even covered my license plate with a piece of cardboard at one point because I was so sure he was logging my comings and goings. My wife thought I was losing it. Last Tuesday I walked over while Dale was watering his lawn and asked him straight up why the camera followed my truck. He started laughing so hard he had to set his hose down. Turns out it was a fake decoy camera he got for $18 off some website, and the "lens" is just a molded piece of plastic with a printed glare sticker. The whole thing is mounted on a swivel that had come loose, so it was drifting in the wind and just happened to end up pointing at my house. He only put it up because his brother in Toledo got his catalytic converter stolen twice. I felt like a total idiot for 3 solid weeks. Has anyone else ever built up a whole story in their head about a neighbor and then found out you were the weird one?
