Heard my neighbor through the wall say 'the room is already painted' at 2am, and it got to me
I was lying awake last Tuesday around 2am when I heard my neighbor in 4B talking through the wall, clear as day. He kept saying "the room is already painted, the room is already painted" over and over, real calm, like he was reading off a card. I know the walls in this building are thin, I hear his TV and his microwave beep all the time, but this was different because there was no other voice, no phone call, just him repeating it about 15 or 20 times. Then he said "she picked the blue one" and went totally quiet. I finally looked up the phrase on my phone at 3am and found old forum posts from people in Ohio and Portland saying it was a code used on some online marketplace to signal a safe meetup spot. I honestly don't know if that is true or just internet stuff, and I am not about to knock on his door and ask. Has anyone here heard a neighbor repeat a weird phrase like that at night, or am I just living next to a guy with a very strange bedtime routine?
