Dropped $310 on a doorbell camera system because my neighbor kept staring at my porch at 2am
I live in a duplex in Tacoma and my neighbor Dale would stand on his side of the fence just staring at my front door around 2 or 3 in the morning. I got freaked out enough that I went and bought one of those fancy four camera wireless setups for $310 at the big box store. Set the whole thing up over a weekend, drilled holes in my siding, ran the wires, the whole deal. Two nights later the motion alerts start blowing up my phone at 2am and it is just a raccoon knocking over my recycling bin. Turns out Dale was out there every night because he was trying to catch the raccoon himself and thought it was a guy stealing stuff. He never told me because he did not want to seem crazy. So I spent 310 bucks and a whole Saturday to learn my creepy neighbor was actually just a guy with a raccoon problem. Has anyone else blown real money on security gear over a neighbor who turned out to be harmless?
