Switched from hand signals to radios on the 400-ton lift and the shouting finally stopped
Worked a big tandem pick at the Port of Savannah last month and we started out on hand signals like always. Halfway through, the signalman couldn't see me past a container stack, so we grabbed the two-way headsets out of the truck. Best call of the whole job, because I could hear him say "swing slow, 2 feet" instead of guessing at a wave. Any of you run radios on every pick now or still save them for the blind lifts?
