A guy at the Portland retro game meetup said 120 hours in Stardew is nothing, and it got under my skin
I was standing by the snack table at a small retro game meetup in Portland last month and overheard a guy say anyone under 120 hours in Stardew Valley has not really played it. At first I laughed, then I got annoyed because my save is only at 70 hours after two seasons of play. Here is my take: hour counts are a terrible way to measure a cozy game. I have spent probably 15 of those hours just fishing on rainy days and another 10 rearranging my farmhouse, and none of that is wasted time to me. Cozy games are not a job, so there is no quota to hit before your save counts as real. What is the number in your save file, and do you actually care about it or just play until you feel done?
