Why I started checking the original source doc instead of trusting the summary video
I used to get all my info on certain topics from those 10 minute explainer videos on YouTube, and I felt pretty smart about it. Then a buddy at work in Cleveland sent me the actual 40 page report from 2019 that one of those videos was based on. The video left out three whole pages of counter arguments and data that made the whole claim fall apart. I sat there reading it on my lunch break and felt like a total idiot for repeating stuff I'd never checked. Now I go to the source doc first, even if it takes me an hour to get through it. Does anyone else have a rule for when a video summary is good enough vs when you need the raw report?
