Rant: Refurbished motherboard ate 6 hours of my Saturday and my client is still waiting

I grabbed a supposedly tested board off an auction site for $38 and it posted once, then died every time I moved the RAM, so has anyone else had luck with those 'bench tested' listings or am I just feeding the scammers?

honestly for $38 you got a days worth of entertainment out of it, that's like a bad movie ticket. those listings are always a gamble, but six hours sounds like you were messing with the RAM more than the board. maybe just bad luck or a flaky slot, not necessarily a scam.
