Rant: Everyone says you need to reinstall Windows for every weird slowdown

I fixed a machine yesterday by just clearing 40GB of temp files and running a disk check, which took 45 minutes. Why do we default to the nuclear option instead of basic troubleshooting first?

Set a 15 minute timer before you hit send on anything important. I used to fire off replies when I was annoyed and it always made things worse. That cool down period lets you read it again and delete the harsh bits. Works for emails too.
