Finally figured out why my thermal paste jobs were always messy
I used to put a pea sized drop in the center and call it good. Then I watched a video where someone spread it thin with a card and my temps dropped like 8 degrees on my Ryzen chip. Has anyone else found a method that just works better than the standard advice?

That 8 degree drop is huge, I had a similar moment when I switched to the X method and finally got even coverage across my whole CPU.
