Stop taking advice from bloggers who've never lived it
I used to follow those "life hack" posts about negotiating rent, until I tried their script in Austin last March and the landlord laughed me out of the office. Now I only ask real neighbors and property managers who've actually been on both sides of the table. Anyone else found that online advice falls apart the second you use it in person?
